Alfred E. LaPlount, 80, of Parkview Gardens Care Center, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, at Covenant Medical Center of cancer.

He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Sioux City, son of Edward and Emma Williams LaPlount. He married Eleanor I. Mullen on Aug. 2, 1934, in Waverly; she died in 1989

Mr. LaPlount was employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing, John Deere and Rath Packing Co. before going to work at Carnation Dairy, where he was a milkman for many years. He later worked for Anderson Erickson Dairy until retiring. He was past president of the Teamster Union Local 238.

Survived by two daughters, Loretta Metcalf and Judy Hoffert, both of Evansdale; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack and Bill, both of California.

Preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Templeman; and two brothers, Herman and Kenneth.

Memorial services: 7 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. There will be no visitation, his body was cremated

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Salvation Army.
