HUDSON —James R. Cook, 59, of 5443 Waiters Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at home of cancer.

He was born March 3, 1938, in Cedar Falls, son of Charlie and Nora Terry Cook. He married Lois I. Forbes on Feb. 9, 1957, in Moline, Illinois.

Mr. Cook was a machinist for Clay Equipment Co., Cedar Falls, for 17 years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Randy of Hudson and Allen of Harbor City, Calif.; a daughter, Wendy Bishop of Hudson; his father, Charlie Cook of Waterloo; a brother, William of Frederic, Wis.; two sisters, Frances Jacobson of Traer and Betty Smith of Hudson; and four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his mother; and a son, Darnel.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Hudson Community Church, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Kearns Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and an hour before services at the church.
