Lauri Raejean Hughes was born December 27, 1973, to Gary and Judy Hughes. She attended school at Blessed Sacrament School and Columbus High School, graduating from Columbus in 1992.

She became a home health care provider after graduation and had worked for SureCare Services Inc. She most recently had provided loving care for her grandmother. She was a very talented and gifted young woman who showed much love and compassion for the people she cared for.

She will be missed sadly by her mother and father of Waterloo, sister Kelli Hughes of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, sister Shelley and her husband Lewis Chipp, nephews Brandon and Brennen Chipp and maternal grandmother Blossom Tufts, all of Waterloo, in addition to countless friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Arthur Tufts and paternal grandparents Patrick and Marcella Hughes.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 4, 2002, at 10:30 a m at Central Christian Church, 3475 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff- Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and also for an hour before services on Monday at the church.
