Funeral services for Dr. Robert F. Thompson, 58, a former resident of Waterloo who died at a Little Rock. Ark., hospital Thursday afternoon, were conducted yesterday at Little Rock. The Ruebel Funeral Home at Little Rock was in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Thompson was the son of the late Dr. James R. and Gertrude Newcomb Thompson. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa.

He moved to Little Rock in 1935. Dr. Thompson, who specialized in the care of children, retired in 1966 after more than 30 years of practice. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Starkey Thompson, Jr., of Los Angeles, and James Reed Thompson, of Tempe, Ariz., two sisters, Miss Kathryn Thompson on Chicago, and Miss Margaret Thompson of 325 Columbia Circle, and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Central Chapter of the national Multiple Sclerosis Society, to the St. Vincent's Convalescent Home, or to the Nursing Students Loan Fund of the University of Arkansas Medical Center.
