Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Payne AME Church for Carl Rucker, 28, of 128 Lincoln St. who died at 3:15 a.m. Friday at an Iowa City hospital of complications of an inflamed pancreas. Friends may call at the East Side Mortuary from 9 a.m. Tuesday to noon Wednesday. The Rev. Leonard Williams will officiate at the service and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Rucker was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Keiser, Ark., the son of Joe and Savannah Rucker.

He married Barbara Garrison Feb. 18, 1967, in Waterloo where he was employed by Zeidlers, Inc., and played the bass guitar professionally.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Savannah Jo; his mother of Osceola, Ark.; five brothers: Nathaniel of. 128 Lincoln St., Isaac of St. Louis, Mo, Edward of Armerel, Ark., Joe Lee of Michigan and Red of Florida: three sisters, Mrs Delia Louise Matlock of 118½ Harrison St., and Mrs. Josephine Jackson and Mrs. Belle Wallace of Osceola, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his father, a son, three brothers and six sisters.
