Memorial services for Ralph H. Standish, 71, of 933 Kingsley Ave., will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, with private committal services preceding the memorial service. He died at Schoitz Memorial Hospital at 4:15 a.m. Friday of cancer.

He was born in Jesup Sept. 15, 1904, son of Phil and Lena Kenyon Standish. He married [Fay] LaRue Jessup Oct. 12, 1926, in Waterloo, and she preceded him in death. He married Birdie Howard Sept. 15, 1967, in Waterloo.

He was senior partner in Standish & Son Mineral Co. until his retirement in 1966.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kent of 209 Byron Ave.; and a sister, Mrs. Lorene Nemela of 600 Park Lane.

Friends wishing may give memorials to Westminster United Presbyterian Church. Friends may call at Locke Funeral Home from noon Sunday until noon Monday.

Wedding announcement in the Waterloo Courier, Oct. 12, 1926 says her name was Fay LeRue Jessup.

Wedding article also said:
"Miss Jessup is a graduate of East High School in the class of 1923. She has been employed as a stenographer by Rath Packing Company. Mr. Standish was graduated from West High School in 1923 and attended Iowa State College where he was a member of Alpha Chi Epsilon fraternity. He is in the chemical department at Raths.
After Nov 1, they will be at home at 1700 Lafayette Street."
