WATERLOO — Jerald L. “Jerry” Jeys, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born July 20, 1932, in Fort Dodge, son of George O. and Viola Hughes Jeys. He married Marlene M. Heath on Aug. 21, 1954, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Jeys was employed by Swiss Valley Farms, formerly Carnation Fresh Milk in Waterloo, for 46 years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by his wife; a son, Thomas L. “Tom” (Charlotte) of Waterloo; four daughters: Nancy A. (Mike) Duffy of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Joan M. (Lamont Rice) Boyland of Waterloo, Linda S. (Robert) Dickerson of West Des Moines and Jean A. (Scott) Timmer of Cedar Falls; a brother, Roger H. (Ruth) of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Georgeann M. Leiss of Big Lake, Minn., and Barbara E. (Terry Van Ee) Erickson of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
