Mrs. John E. Johnson, 68, of 323 Fowler Street, resident of Waterloo since 1914, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday after a cerebral hemorrhage at St. Francis Hospital, where she had been for the past several days.

Born Elizabeth Brennan in Buchanan County, Iowa, November 10, 1876, daughter of William and Mary Brennan, early Buchanan County farmers. She was married to John E. Johnson, Waterloo, September 9, 1914, in Wausau, Wisconsin, by her brother, the late Rev. J. J. Brennan.

They came to Waterloo in 1913 where they had resided since, he being a longtime employee of the Waterloo, Cedar Falls & Northern Railroad.

Surviving are her husband, three brothers: Martin, 1724 Mulberry Street; Gene, in Buchanan County, and Edward, Black Hawk County farmer.

One daughter died in infancy in 1916.

The body was taken to the O'Keefe Towne funeral home.
