Mrs. Jane W. Shaw, age 78 years, who had resided in Waterloo for the past thirty-two years, died at her home, 121 Ninth Street West at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, as the result of a second stroke of paralysis suffered about a week ago.

Her maiden name was Armstrong and she was born on Feb. 14. 1838 in Allegheny County, N. Y. On Nov. 7, 1858, she was married to John D. Shaw of DeKalb, Illinois. The couple came to Iowa in 1867 and Mr. Shaw died in 1873. In 1874 Mrs. Shaw came to Black Hawk County, settling in Raymond, where she resided for ten years, moving then to Waterloo, which has been her home since.

She is survived by three children: Chester J. and Cora A. Shaw of Waterloo, and Mrs. Minnie Hoar of Whittler, California.

The body was taken to the Kistner mortuary and prepared for burial, and the funeral will be held from the home, 121 Ninth Street East, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. George B. Shoemaker officiating, interment will take place in Falrview.
