WATERLOO - Martin Steaven, 84, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, of a heart ailment

He was born April 12, 1915, in Charthase, Miss., son of Ed and Dora Steaven. He worked for the Chicago Gas and Light Co. in Chicago for many years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by a sister-in-law, Laura Simmons of Waterloo; and a brother

Preceded in death by a brother.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at the Iowa Veterans Home chapel, with burial in Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery, both in Marshalltown. Friends may call from noon until services at the Veteran Home chapel.
