Heiko Meyer, 84, of 209 W. Fifth St., died Monday, Dec. 31, 1990, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 12, 1906, in Leer, Ostfriesland, Germany, son of Heiko and Grecha Marcus Meyer.

He married Violet Helen Jensen on May 14, 1930, in Waterloo. Mr. Meyer was shop superintendent, president and chairman of the board at Schoitz Engineering. He came to the United States in 1925 and began working at Schoitz Engineering in 1928, retiring in 1976. He was currently chairman of the board.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Viann Schroeder of Lincoln, Neb.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
