WATERLOO — John Murray McKinley, 94, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Golden Living Center West, Rochester.

He was born May 21, 1918, on a farm near Traer, son of James and Jane McKinley. He married Mary Reeves on March 14, 1940, near Traer. She preceded him in death.

Mr. McKinley worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, then farmed full time in Iowa and Wisconsin before finally settling in Minnesota.

Survived by two sons, Sam (Carole) of Omaha, Neb., and Murray of Rochester; three daughters: Mary Lois (Morris) Dinsdale of Marshalltown, Kathyrn (Jack) Syhlman of Moravia and Ema McKinley of Rochester; a daughter-in-law, Karol of Hudson; two adopted daughters, Dorothy (Dan) Dunn of Owatonna, Minn., and Cathy (Daryn) Ruggeberg of Rochester; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a son, John.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, Rochester, with burial at 3:30 p.m. in Buckingham Cemetery, Traer, followed by a luncheon at North Tama Activity Center, Traer.

John was a loving husband and father. He will always be remembered as a man of great faith who touched the lives of those he met and will be sorely missed.
