John K. Sweeney 1829 - 1895

Death of J. K, Sweeney.

J. K. Sweeney, a well known citizen of Waterloo, and former superintendent of the east side schools died at his residence in Waterloo on the 7th. The cause of death was locomotor ataxia, and he has suffered with, it for three years past.

Mr. Sweeney was 66 years old last April and leaves a wife, two daughters and one son.

He was well known among the educators of the state; was superintendent of the city schools at Fairfield, Wapello, Washington. East Waterloo and Cedar Falls. He was a very successful educator and was highly respected by all as an honest, upright citizen.
