OELWEIN — Calvin Eugene Duckett, 82, of Oelwein, died Sunday, Feb. 24, at Grandview Healthcare Center, Oelwein, after a long illness with cancer.

He was born May 27, 1930, son of Fred and Daisy Rosenstiel Duckett. He married Sharon Johnson on Aug. 20, 1960.

Mr. Duckett served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, retiring in 1960. He then worked for an implement dealer as a mechanic in Oelwein, and later went to work at John Deere Tractor Works, [Waterloo], for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Deborah Duckett and Teresa Duckett of Clear Lake; a son, Randy of Sand Springs, Okla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Howard, both of Central City; and two sisters, Della Stohr and Donna Mohlis, both of Hazleton.

Preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Lola Fern Duckett; two grandchildren; and three brothers, Mathew, Clifford and Clarence.

Services: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., with inurnment at a later date.
