Walter C. Wilson, 57, of 1222 Colorado St. Died Monday at 3:35 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born in Black Hawk County on November 1, 1898, the son of John N. and Fern Falk Wilson. On November 26, 1919, he married Miss Hanna V. Craig who preceded him in death on November 16, 1953.

He was employed for the past 20 years by the John Deere Tractor Works. He was a member St. John's Catholic Church, of the VFW (he served as the first post commander of that group); he was in the Mexican Border Campaign and in World War 1. He was with the National Guard until 1928 and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving him are five daughters Mrs. John Kalainoff of Clarksville, Mrs. Rudy Petra of 1120 Longfellow Ave, Mrs. Charles Uecker of 4024 Lafayette Rd., Mrs. Donald Lund of Schenectady, New York and Mrs. E. (Lois) Hogan of 621 Independence Ave, one son Walter C. Jr. of 1222 Colorado St and ten grandchildren. His brother Frank Wilson of Shenandoah, Iowa, Theodore Wilson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Joseph Wilson and James Wilson of 712½ Jefferson St. also survive him.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
