EVANSDALE - Gunner W. Jakobsen, 85, of Evansdale, formerly of Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Raymond, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Cedar Falls, son of Jens and Christina Jakobsen. He married Dellrose Colvin Oct. 7, 1944, in Waverly.

Mr. Jakobsen worked as a machinist and in method set-up at John Deere for 36 years.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Linda (Mike) Schreurs of Johnston and Kristina “Tina” (Dan) Langan of Waterloo; a son, Bob (Shelly) Jakobsen of Oviedo, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Pam Jakobsen of Oviedo; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Jakobsen of Waterloo.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
