WATERLOO — Robert H. “Bob” Thomas, 91, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, of natural causes.

He was born June 16, 1921, in Floyd County, son of Christ and Katherine Lohrman Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was employed at John Deere & Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

Survived by a sister, Ruth H. (Alwin) Berry of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by six brothers: Christy, Albert, Frank, William, George and Malvin Thomas; and two sisters, Florence Potter and Agnes Carlson.

Private family services will take place at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623.
