Services for Charles G. Gruver, 81, of 709 Kern Street, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the O'Keefe & Towne-Carter & Waychoff Funeral Home with burial in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery. He died Wednesday morning at Parkview Gardens Care Center.

He was born February 19, 1903, in Waterloo, son of Thomas and Jessie Lamphear Gruver. He married Vera Bishop December 25, 1926 in Waterloo. He was employed by Associated Manufacturers for 25 years and by the Catholic Cemeteries of Waterloo for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; four sons: Charles Jr. of Waterloo, Eugene of Anchorage, Alaska, Robert of Houston, Texas and James of cypress, California; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Regenold of Waterloo.

Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be after noon Friday at the funeral home
