Robert L. Gruver was born January 8, 1924 in Elgin, son of Lew and Mary Shaw Gruver. He passed away at Windsor Care Center, Tuesday, March 14, 1978, at the age of 54.

Mr. Gruver married Phoebe Chamberlain, December 9, 1950, in Waterloo.

He was employed at Cappers Hatchery, Elgin, and various filling stations. For the last 26 years he worked for the Landau Oil Company in Waterloo.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, William J., West Union, and Elmer B., Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and a sister, Lila, Mrs. Lester Crain, Clermont.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, in the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Kearns-Dykeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
