CEDAR FALLS — Rebecca J. “Becky” Lake, 63, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 11, 1950, in Emmetsburg, daughter of Wayland C. and Martha Helen Nelson Breese. She married Anthony H. “Tony” Lake on May 1, 1982, in Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Lake graduated from Maurice Orange City High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in music from Northwestern College. She later earned her master’s degree in piano performance from Western Illinois University. She was employed as a paralegal/legal assistant for Redfern, Mason, Dieter and Moore and Swisher and Cohrt Law Offices. She later was employed in accounting with John Deere. She was an adjunct piano instructor at the University of Northern Iowa and taught piano at Lake Piano Studio from 1989 to present.

Survived by her husband; a son, Nic of Marion; her mother of Orange City; and a sister, Susan (Gerald) McGlaughlin of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her father; and a sister, Julie Breese.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
