WATERLOO — Russell W. Bentley, 79, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Allen Hospital after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Waterloo, son of LeRoy and Ida Strempke Bentley. He married Sylvia Taylor, and they later divorced. He married Olga Tonn Moses on Nov. 22, 1975, in Waterloo.

Mr. Bentley worked at Webbeking Bakery, then retired from Powers Manufacturing in 1998. After his retirement, he returned to Powers for a short time.

Survived by his wife; a son, Russ (Stacey) of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Heather (Chad) Wagner of Waterloo and Kim (Dave) Lindauer of Fairfax; seven grandchildren, Ryan Topliff, Tyler and Taylor Bentley, Michael and Justin Lindauer, Adriana Michaels and Dylan Wagner; a brother, Forrest (Carol) of Prosper, Texas; and a sister, Anna Everding of Denver.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Sallie Topliff; five brothers, Herb, Wally, Hermie, Fred and Roger; and two sisters, Bernice Fields and Louise Dietz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
