CEDAR FALLS — Arthur Lee Klingenborg, 80, of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.

He was born July 9, 1932, in Cedar Falls, son of Peter and Nannie Lindaman Klingenborg. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Cranston on Oct. 21, 1955, and she died April 2, 1985. He married Marlene Schaben on Nov. 1, 1986.

He graduated from Aplington High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed with Hawkeye Steele for 29 years and later drove a semi for Cedar Falls Construction.

Survived by his wife; three daughters: Patti Humpal of Cedar Falls, Teresa (Kelly) Snyder of Marathon and Jolene (Bruce) Hiott of San Antonio; six stepchildren: Carol Carter of Irwin, Dean (Jamie) Schaben of Springdale, Ark., Brian (Lori) Schaben of Kansas City, Mo., David Schaben of Kimballton, Rodney (Brenda) Schaben of Council Bluffs and Roger (Cindy) of Bradyville; seven grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Paul (Betty) of Stout.

Preceded in death by a daughter, LeAnn Klingenborg; a brother, William “Bill”; and a stepgranddaughter, Dena Carter.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to Cedar Falls AMVETS or the church.

Lee enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, camping, country music festivals, and making new friends while camping.
