WATERLOO — Joyce G. Newport, 94, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, died there Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in New Sharon, daughter of George G. and Anna Rachel Dysart Drennan. She married Kenneth Elton Newport on April 9, 1939, in New Sharon. He died Sept. 28, 1990.

She graduated from New Sharon High School in 1936. Mrs. Newport taught at Hickory Grove Country School after obtaining a normal training teaching certificate. For several years she helped with Newport Accounting and Tax Service the family business.

Survived by three daughters, Lynne (Charles) Fuller of Round Lake, Ill., and Marcia (David) Short and Rachel Stout, both of Cedar Falls; two sons, K. Blair of Waterloo and Gregory (Shelley) of Lincoln, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Lundy; and a brother, Alfred Drennan.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
