Mrs. Mary J. McStay died at eleven o'clock yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.E. Redmand, 1010 Mulberry street. Death was due to cancer from which the lady has suffered fro some time and gradually passed away.

Deceased was born in Dickinson county, New York state, and was seventy-one years of age.

She was wedded to E. E. McStay in 1857 and they came to this county to live and settled in Fox Township. Later they moved to near Raymond, where Mr. McStay died about thirty years ago. The family were well known throughout the east end of the county.

The lady is survived by F. E. McStay, Waterloo, Mrs. S. E. Redmond, Waterloo, Mrs. Lena Tabor, Bermidji, Minn., Mrs. Benj. J. Howrey, Waterloo, all children. Brothers and sisters surviving are W. A. Dickerson, Waukonda, S.D., A. L. Dickerson, of Jesup, and Mrs. E. H. Clubine of Waterloo.

The lady was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist church. Funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon and interment made in the cemetery near Raymond where the husband is buried.

Sept 25- Mrs. Mary McStay died at 1010 Mulberry street of cancer aged 71 years. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
