[Iowa State Reporter, Wednesday, November 2, 1881]

Mrs. Ada Jolls died Friday morning from the effects of an operation for the removal of an ovarian tumor. The tumor was of two years growth and weighed twenty-four pounds. The pelicle by which it was attached to the ovaria was unusually short, wide and vascular and great difficulty was experienced in ligating it so as to prevent bleeding. The ligaments gave way twice on account of exertion caused by vomiting and by additional operations were replaced, but, in spite of the efforts of the surgeons, she finally died.

Mrs. Jolls was formerly Miss Ada Green, a school teacher, and well known to many as an exemplary young lady.

She was married to A.W. Jolls on the 11th of last August.

The funeral took place at the residence Saturday at 11 o'clock, Rev. R. Garton officiating. Her remains were put to rest in Fairview Cemetery.
