DEATH HAS KEPT BUSY

Claude McDonald Succumbs to an Attack of Consumption.

Popular Young Man Called Away Early This Morning.

After months of patient suffering, through all of which he bore up bravely, and though knowing death would sooner or later claim him, endeavoring constantly to cheer those about him with the belief that he would eventually recover, Claude McDonald, aged 18 years, passed away at 1 o'clock this morning. The cause of the young man's death was consumption and he has been ill since last December.

Mr. McDonald was born in Waterloo, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. McDonald, on the 18th of July 1883. He spent all his life here, and after leaving school was engaged as clerk until sickness compelled him to give up his work. He was popular with a large circle of young people and during his illness they have frequently visited him in small parties and have at his request sung to him and furnished instrumental music for him. He greatly appreciated these favors and was always more resigned to his fate after one of these visits.

The father of the young man died sometime ago, and he lived with his mother on Indiana street in Lincoln Place. Besides his mother there survive him two younger brothers, George and Albert, and one sister, Miss Flora McDonald.

The funeral services will be held at the house at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon conducted by Rev. Beeman of The Walnut street Baptist church and the interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
