KRETZSCHMAR, HEMPEL, TIMMERMAN

Friedrick Gustav Kretzschmar, age 68, died at 6 a.m. today at the family home, 1007 Franklin Street, after an illness of pneumonia of one week's duration.

Mr. Kretzschmar was born at Mitweida, Saxony, Germany, and came to America in 1881, coming directly to Waterloo. He was married to Emelie Hempel. After coming to Waterloo he engaged in his chosen work as a master stonemason. At the time of his death, he was a senior member of the firm of Kretzschmar & Matthias Manufacturing Co.

Surviving are the widow and four children. They are: Rev. Karl F. Kretzschmar, Knoxville, Tenn.; Rev. F. Herman Kretzschmar, Fail Creek, Wis.; Mrs. Henry Timmerman, Waterloo, and Miss Martha Kretzschmar, Hampton, Ia.

Deceased was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church, having joined this church upon his arrival in Waterloo. The body was removed to the Hileman & Gindt mortuary and funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 16, from the church of which he was a member. Rev. H. Prekel will officiate and burial will be in Fairview.
