CEDAR FALLS — Richard H. “Rick” Sproul, 67, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital emergency room.

He was born Jan. 27, 1945, in Waterloo, son of Hugh and Vivian Parker Sproul. He married Niceta Clark on June 3, 2000, in Nashua.

Mr. Sproul graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1963 and attended Ellsworth Community College. He sold new and used vehicles in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. He was inducted into the Waterloo Softball Hall of Fame.

Survived by his wife; a son, Steve (Lori) of Fort Madison; a daughter, Mary (Johnny) Phillips of Gilbert, Ariz.; three grandchildren: JW and Shelby Phillips and Anika Vivian Sproul; a brother, Dave (Marcia) Sproul; stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Garden of Memories, Waterloo, at a later date. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Rick was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan; Hawkeye attire is encouraged for the services, in his memory.
