Services for Bert S. Purinton, 76, of 242 Madison St., will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Memories West with burial in the Garden of Memories.

Mr. Purinton died at Allen Memorial Hospital at 7:03 p.m. Sunday of complications of a heart ailment.

The Eagles will conduct services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and friends may call after noon Tuesday.

He was born Jan. 2, 1900, in Waterloo, son of Sidney and Mary Harden Purinton. He married Bernice Waugh Jan 1, 1957, in Waverly.

He served with the Army during World War II, and was employed at Black's department store maintenance department,retiring in 1965.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Harper of 824 W. Seventh St., Cedar Falls; a stepdaughter Verdun Ellifson of Overland Park, Kan.; and two sons, Ted of Angels Camp, Calif., and Chester of Chicago, Ill.
