Mary I. Minks, 79, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 13, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 10, 1917 in Seymour, daughter of Delmar and Olive Davis Smith. She married Harold E. Minks Dec. 24, 1937 in Unionville, Mo. He died in 1996. She was employed by Varsity Cleaners for many years.

Survived by two sons, Leroy and Larry, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Rosalind Offield of Waterloo; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William D. Smith of Waterloo and Wendel W. Smith of Alliance, Neb.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and John Smith; a sister, Helen Bowman; and three sisters in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home, with burial in the Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and an hour before services Tuesday.
