[Waterloo Daily Courier, Monday, June 24, 1907]

Mrs. Jane Garrabrant, wife of Jacob Garrabrant living at 911 Sycamore Street, died very suddenly at her home at 7:45 p.m. last Saturday, the cause being that of apoplexy.

Mrs. Garrabrant had been under the doctor's care for months but was not thought to be quite so dangerously affected. Her husband had gone down town in the evening and returned finding Mrs. Garrabrant in a stupefied or unconscious condition on the floor. A physician was immediately summoned, but it was of no avail, as she had passed away before his arrival.

She has lived here about 60 years, having come here in 1856. Mrs. Garrabrant was born in New Jersey Feb. 28, 1837, being at the time of her death over seventy years old.

Three sons living and one daughter now deceased were born to Mrs. Garrabrant, the sons being: Ira, Willard and Stocton, the latter two of whom now reside in Waterloo and have children to mourn the loss of their grandmother.

Aside from the husband, sons and grandchildren, many other relatives are left to mourn the loss.

The funeral was held at the home, 911 Sycamore street, today at 2 o'clock, Rev. Hull of the Grace M.E. church taking charge. Interment was in Fairview.

NOTE: Her maiden name was Stocton.
