CEDAR FALLS — Ethel Mae Schneider, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Cedar Falls, daughter of John and Mary Krogh Nelson. She married Joseph W.F. Schneider on Aug. 29, 1942, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. He died March 16, 2008.

Mrs. Schneider graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1938 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa) for two years.

Survived by a son, Wayne J. (Paula) of Burlington, Vt.; a daughter, Joan Mitchell of Kalispell, Mont.; three grandchildren, Erik and Kevin Friesen, both of Winnipeg, Canada, and Ashley (Derek) Elliott of Waterloo; and a sister, Irene Nielsen of Mabel, Minn.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Friesen; and a sister, Helen Nelson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
