Josiah H. Shaulis, 61, of Rt. 1, died Sunday at 2 a.m. at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a stroke suffered Saturday night.

A life-long resident of Oragne Township, he was born there January 5, 1885, the son of Wrestler J. and Clara Olson Shaulis. He married Bertha M. Harbaugh, December 22, 1915.

He was a member of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren and for the past five years had been chairman of the board of trustees. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Forrest J., Freeport, Illinois, and Glen R., 626 Wallgate Street; two daughters, Wilma Shaulis, Honolulu, and Mrs. Thelma Morgenson, White Bear Lake, Minnesota; two brothers, Cato, New Castle, Wyoming, and Eugene L., San Diego; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Clarence Sink, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery. The body will be at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home until services.
