Jane E. Thompson, 61, of 135 East San Marnan Drive, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born May 26, 1939, in Waterloo, daughter of Morris and Frances Lyle Wyborny.

She was employed with Waterloo Savings Bank for 30 years, retiring as trust officer in 1999. She was currently employed with the Beecher, Field, Fister, Walker, Morris, Hoffman and Johnson Law Firm. She was past president of the Easy Risers Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Connie Thompson, and grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob and Sarah Jane Thompson, all of Viola, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David and Wesley; and a sister, Marietta Bidne.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and at the church for an hour before services on Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
