WATERLOO — Jack Louis Miller, 86, of Marco Island, Fla., formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Naples Community Hospital, Naples, Fla.

He was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Waterloo, son of Leila and Gerald Miller. He married Marian Louise Neff on July 14, 1951.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business in 1950. His entire career was spent in finance and banking. While residing in Waterloo he was active in Westminster United Presbyterian Church, the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Sunnyside Country Club, Easter Seals Society of Iowa and Exceptional Persons Inc. After moving to Florida he became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Marco Island. He also was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Collier County.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Susan Miller of Marco Island; two sons, Jeffrey (Pamela) and John of Coralville; and four grandchildren Bryan, Andy, Alison and Ben, all of Clive.

Preceded in death by a brother, Richard; and a son, James Paul.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Marco Island.

Jack touched the lives of everyone who was privileged to know him.
