CEDAR FALLS — Darlene M. Pearson, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born June 21, 1925, in Boone, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Klute May. She married Virgil “Pete” Pearson on Dec. 28, 1948, in Boone. He died Aug. 2, 1982.

Mrs. Pearson worked as a bookkeeper for Waterloo Savings Bank, then as a stenographer for Zimmerman Law Office and later as an insurance agent with Miller Insurance Agency PDCM, Amy Hansen Insurance, and retired from Showers Insurance in 2010.

Survived by a son, Shane (Kathy) of Cedar Falls; three daughters: Shannon Pearson and Sheryl (Bob) Ford, both of Cedar Falls, and Shelean (Rob) Castello of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Pearson and Dorothy May.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
