WATERLOO — Lillian A. Sheeley, 102, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Oct. 28, 1910, in Marble Rock, daughter of Fred and Alma Gunderson Thieman. She married Carroll Sheeley on Jan. 11, 1930, in Denison. He died May 18, 1998.

She graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1928 and from Gates Business College in 1929. Mrs. Sheeley was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church.

Survived by a daughter, Mary Hesse of Iowa City; two sons, Donald (Dorothy) of Omaha, Neb., and Douglas (Catherine) of LaPorte City; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Thieman of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Grace Hindersman of Los Banos, Calif.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

Lillian enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers on their acre of land and the many hours spent canning and freezing.
