Jerry Lamasters, 76 of Waterloo, died Saturday Feb. 17, 2007, at Manor Care Health Center of natural causes.

He was born May 29, 1930, in Eldora, the son of John Henry and Bertha McGill Lamasters.

He married Avonelle Bahr on Feb. 20, 1960, in Hardin County. She died in April of 1988. Mr. Lamasters was employed with Rath Packing Company for 30 years. He was also employed as a part-time maintenance worker at Eastgate Estates & Woodland Terrace Mobile Home Park. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army.

Survived by three sons: Tim, Craig, and Lynn all of Waterloo; two daughters, Cheryl (Don) Porter of Massachusetts, and Brenda Lamasters of Waterloo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bud (Ruth) of Loveland, CO, Wayne (Gladys) of Iowa Falls and Dean of Eldora; two sisters Doris Stroh of Humbolt and Betty Ball of Eldora.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Larry; a sister Jessie Smith, and an infant sister Helen Lamasters.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. with burial in Garden of Memories cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
