Waterloo- Virgil Robert Mullin, 83, of Waterloo died Sunday February 11, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born April 24, 1923, in Doty, IA, son of Daniel and Margaret Forrett Mullin.

He married Bernadine Anna Moran on February 27, 1960 in Waterloo. She died April 22 2005. He was employed with Rath Packing Co. in the beef cooler/elevator dept. for 38 years retiring in 1984. Mr. Mullin served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 1946 on the USS Corregidor.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Keith) Pittman of Waterloo, and Sonja (Tim) Cadwell of Hamilton, MO; one granddaughter LeAnn (Richard Crane) Freeman of Waterloo; two great grandsons, Skyler and Dillon Freeman; one sister Kathleen Ramker of Mason City; three nieces and one nephew.

Preceded in death by a sister, Marie Alden and a grandson Virgil Hansen.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623 for 52 years.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623 and American Legion Post 138. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and for one hour before services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623.
