CEDAR FALLS — Jeanette Mariann (Miller) Mehmen, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center of natural causes.

She was born September 2, 1927, in Sheboygan Falls, Wis., daughter of John and Josephine Sande Miller. She married Ralph Mehmen on Sept. 26, 1948, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

She graduated from Waverly High School in 1946 and from LaJames Beauty School, Mason City, in 1947. Mrs. Mehmen was a beauty operator with Pitzes Corner Shop, Waterloo, and then worked for Leone in the beauty shop in Waverly. She operated and owned Jeanette’s Beauty Salon for over 60 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survived by her husband; a son, Craig (Mardelle) of Waverly; three grandchildren, Chad Mehmen (Jessica Johnston), Jessica (Brandin) Van Auken and Kimberly (Patrick) Lursen; five great-grandchildren, Keagan Mehmen, Kyler and Kipton Lursen, Carver and Hayden Van Auken; and a great-grandson, Bryton Mehmen, due at the end of December.

Preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Gracie Hope Van Auken; a brother, Johnny Miller; a half sister, Marvel Hallan; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Miller.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
