MRS. MARY A. OREN.

La Porte City, May 3.—Mrs. Mary A. Oren, relict of Dr. Jesse Oren, died this morning following a long illness. Primary cause was physical breakdown due to old age.

At her bed side were three daughters: Mrs. Myers, with whom she had made her home; Mrs. H. J. Carr, Lake Bluff, Illinois; Mrs. C. C. McCoy; a son. Dr. F. A. Oren, will be present from Illinois to attend the funeral, which will probably will be Sunday at 2:30 p. m. Mrs. Hinsky of Florida, another relative, will not be present.

Mrs. Oren had been a resident of La Porte City since 1856 and it was at her home where the first sessions of public school were held and also where the first meetings of the Presbyterian congregation were held.

Mrs. Mary A. Oren, wife of the late Dr. Jesse Oren, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Myers, after a long illness due to old age.

Mrs. Oren was one of the pioneer residents of this county, having come In 1856.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the home.

Dr. S. A. Oren of Lewistown, Illinois, and Mrs. Hattie Carr of Lake Bluff, Illinois, will be present for the funeral.
