Glenn D. Haberstich, 86, of Waterloo, died Thursday morning, Oct 11, 2012 at Parkview Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born April 24, 1926 in Ellsworth, WI, the son of August and Linnet Bunce Haberstich. He married Blanche Wilson on April 11, 1945 in Ellsworth, WI.

He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II, and worked at Farnsworth Electronics for 42 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons: David (Judy) of Fresno, CA, Dennis (Donna) of Lincoln, NE, Dale (Jan) of Waterloo; 3 daughters: Diana (Walt) Weber of Hudson, Dixie (Scott) Langton of Reinbeck, Denise (David) Sterner of Waterloo; 1 brother, Bill of Waterloo; 2 sisters, Phyllis Watters of Waterloo, Mary Kelty of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Raymond, John, Robert, Daniel "Pat", Edward, James; and 2 sisters, Elma Leeper and Ina Niediegh.

Services will be Monday, October 15, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Graveside military rites with be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post #19, Evansdale AMVETS Post #31 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 – 6 P.M. Sunday and an hour before services Monday.
