ELLIS, MEAD, FLOYD, HIGHLEY

MRS. D. G. ELLIS

Jerusha Mead Ellis, who has resided continuously in Waterloo since 1854, died at her home, 1225 Lafaette Street, about 10 a.m. today.

She was born in Seneca County May 4, 1828, and when a young child moved with her parents to Roscoe, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood and married Benjamin Higgins. Mr. Higgins died in 1863 and his widow later married D. G. Ellis. Mr. Ellis died April 14, 1916. Two daughters preceded the mother in death.

The surviving relatives are a sister, Mrs. Phoebe A. Schellenger, 1015 Franklin Street, and three grandchildren, Mrs. William Floyd, George B. Highley, Waterloo, and Ira Highley, Meservey.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and attended services at Grace Church as long as her health permitted.

The body was taken to Hileman Gindt's Mortuary.
