Vernon L. Seedorff, age 77, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born February 25, 1935 on the family farm near Aurora, Fayette County, Iowa, the son of Albert and Mary Andermann Seedorff. Vernon graduated from Lamont (IA) High School.

Vernon worked for John Deere & Co. in Waterloo for 36 years, retiring in 1999. He was a US Navy Veteran. Vernon enjoyed buying new cars, spending time at the casino and dancing with the ladies. He was very patriotic and proud to be an American.

Survivors include a sister, Mildred Wolfswinkel of Scottsdale, AZ. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Darrell, Harlan, Donald and Darwin Seedorff and two sisters, Evelyn Noble and Arlene Scremin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 420 Harwood Avenue, Waterloo, with Rev. Dena Stinson, Associate Pastor, officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Union Cemetery, Aurora, Iowa. Public visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo and an hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Union Cemetery, Aurora, Iowa.
