CLARENCE H. STEPHENS

Clarence H. Stephens, 68, 135 Hanna Blvd., died at 7:IS p. m. Wednesday at Allen Memorial Hospital from a heart attack.

He was born April 3, 1896, in Grundy County, he was the son of Frank and Jane Berner Stephens.

He married Iva Yockstick, Sept. 3, 1917, at Riceville. They have been residents of the Waterloo area for the past 36 years. For 22 years he was employed by the Members Mutual Oil Co., retiring in January of 1962. He was a member of the Community Church of Hudson.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Donald C., 438 Loma St.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Popp, Hudson, and Mrs. Bertha Backens, Reinbeck; three brothers, John, Cameron, Mo., Ralph Davenport, and Newton, San Jose, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. Stephens will be Friday at 1:30 p. m. at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home. The Rev. James R. Black, of the First Brethren Church, will officiate, and burial will be in the Hudson Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a. m Friday.
