Drucilla E. "Betty" Widmann, 84, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes at her home on Monday, March 13, 2006.

She was born October 25, 1921 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of David and Bernice (Washburn) Eastman.

Betty married Arthur C. Widmann in 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1979. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Waterloo and operated a foster home for children for over thirty-five years.

Betty is survived by four sons: Jim (Jeannie) Widmann of Waterloo, Tim (Jan) Widmann of Oelwein, Iowa, Tom Widmann and Joe (Beth) Widmann, both of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Becky Sahwab of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Julie Widmann (Chance Crowther-Green) of Waterloo; a foster son, Carl Haasis of Cedar Falls; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Lavin of La Porte City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Michael Widmann, and a grandson, David Widmann.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.

A memorial fund will be established.
