Blanche A. Saland, 80, of Waterloo, died Friday, morning, September 7, 2012, at the home of her sister in Crosslake, MN.

She was born September 30, 1931 in Manly, the daughter of Chris and Blanch Yezek Hebel. She married Robert J. Saland on May 4, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. He preceded her in death in 1980. She then had Eldon L. Nelson as her long time companion. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Blanche worked at Buzz’s Bar for 14 years retiring in 1994.

She was a member of the Falling Rock Walleye Club in Eastman, WI for 45 years and also enjoyed crocheting, donating some of her creations to the kid’s fishing derby’s or Relay for Life and giving the rest to her family.

She is survived by 1 son, Robert “Rocky” (Shirley) Saland of Waterloo; 3 daughters, Roberta J. (Kenneth) Fleshner, Sr. of Prairie Du Chien, WI, Roxanne F. Steen of Luzerne, Debora A. (Raymond) Anderson of Cedar Falls; 1 brother, Christy Hebel of Yelm, WA; 2 sisters, Clara Nelson of Waterloo, Dorothy (Tom) Naples of Cross Lake, MN; 1 sister-in-law, Ila Hebel of Manly; eleven grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; and her beloved dog, Angel.

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Jack, Emil, Bernard, and two brothers in infancy, Christy and Bernard; 6 sisters, Veronica Reed, Betty Isenhart, Adelaide Anderson, Mary Mandt, Donna Wieland and Dixie Nelson.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, Sept 12, 2012, at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher on Kimball with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home form 4 – 8 P.M. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday.
