Shirley A. Gebhardt, 77, of Waterloo died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center.

Shirley was born August 16, 1935 in Shell Rock, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Ione Rewerts. She graduated from Clarksville High School.

Shirley married Richard D. Gebhardt May 26, 1956 in Clarksville. She worked John Deere for 22 years in Industrial Engineering and retired from the Marketing Department in 1997.

Shirley was a Charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church. She and Dick did everything together. When they were younger she enjoyed waterskiing. She and Dick spent time fishing at Woman Lake in Minnesota. Together they spent the winters at Lake Havasu where they enjoyed golfing. Shirley liked to spend time in the yard tending to their gardens and mowing. She liked to read and take walks with Dick.

Shirley is survived by her husband, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She is preceded in death by her son Richard R. in 1980.
