Wesley Charles Cufr, 77, of Waterloo died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born August 19, 1929 in Buckingham, son of Cyril and Agnes Vlasak Cufr.

He married Lauretta Mae Lehmann on November 4, 1950 in Elgin Illinois. Mr. Cufr was employed with the Rath Packing Company and later with the Iowa Department Of Transportation for many years retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Wesley was also known as Lefty Henry.

Survivors include his wife; three sons: Jerry Charles (Tammy) Cufr of Evansdale, Ronnie John (Yolanda) Cufr of Waterloo, and Randal Alan (Charlene) Cufr of Oskaloosa; a daughter, Kathryn (Ric) Cufr Lange of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers Emil D. (Marge) Cufr of Traer, and Frank C. (Judy) Cufr of Beloit Wisconsin.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Morrison and Sylvia Pinkston.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ansgars Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31 and Waterloo Amvets Post 19. Public visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Wednesday.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the family.
