Douglas Neebel, of Nampa, Idaho, died on July 14, 2012. He and his twin brother, Dennis were born to Norma and Richard Neebel, of Waterloo, Iowa -- during the post World War II period of the 1950's, when America was a recovering nation of freedom and dreams for all. Douglas and Dennis, and later their sisters Janet and Diane, spent a happy childhood playing "hide and seek" and catching fire-flies with the many neighborhood children and visiting cousins on warm summer nights.
He resided in Waterloo through high school and later married Suzanne Wightman of Waterloo. They took a huge leap and moved to Ontario, Oregon for several years until their divorce, when Suzanne returned to her home and parents in Waterloo.
He later moved to Boise, Idaho where he worked for a number of retailers in the furniture, hardware, and grocery business. His most recent employment has been seventeen years with Micron Technology in Boise where he enjoyed participating in the microchip assembly group, where he oversaw automatic assembly machines. Doug took great pride in his work and was well respected among his peers and associates. He also enjoyed the competition and camaraderie on the Micron Bowling League in past years. He recently considered retirement from Micron; however he decided to work for three more years until his recent massive heart attack.
He took great pleasure throughout his lifetime in bringing joy to others, from a very short stint of roller-blading to keep up with his young niece, playing Santa for loved-ones, a birthday clown, providing numerous crafts for visiting nieces and nephews, to always sharing his ever present stash of candy. Douglas was known for his loving heart, his fun-loving ways, and his unlimited generosity.
Douglas is survived by his parents, Richard and Norma Neebel; his twin brother, Dennis Neebel (Judy); his sisters, Janet Tarantino and Diane Craig; his nephews, Phil Croci, and Curt Croci (Tiffany); his nieces, Gina Croci and Kayla Craig; and great-niece, Taylor Croci.
